Product Overview
Oil tanning, through oil penetration and bonding, gives leather distinctive sensory and functional qualities, making it ideal for products with a rustic, natural aesthetic. Modern techniques preserve traditional charm while improving durability, securing its place in the premium leather market.
Key Steps in Oil Tanning as below:
1. Deliming and Softening: After liming and dehairing, the hide must be thoroughly delimed (to remove alkalinity) to prevent tanning agent failure.
2. Oil Tanning: Oils (e.g., fish oil) are evenly applied or soaked into the leather, with mechanical drumming or heating (40-50°C) aiding penetration. In traditional methods, oxidized oils bond with collagen fibers (e.g., chamois leather requires oxidation in a humid environment).
3. Washing and Drying: Excess surface oils are removed to prevent a greasy feel.
4. Fat Liquoring and Finishing: Additional oils (e.g., neatsfoot oil) enhance softness, while processes like staking and buffing refine the surface.

Samples will be provided for you at free and welcome you ask us for samples

OEM & ODM supported. Customization available (patterns, thickness, colors, base fabric, and physical/chemical property standards) per customer requirements.
MOQ:
For samples, we can provide you any quantity as you need if we have stock. If we have no stock, the MOQ of samples will be around 20--50 meters per color.
For bulk goods, the MOQ is 300 meter per color.
Delivery date:
For samples usually delivery within 1 week.
For bulk production, the delivery date is around 15--20 days. But urgent order can be finished 10-15 days.
Product packing:
We provide a wide range of packing options to suit your needs insert card ,PP film, OPP film, shrinking film, Poly bag with zipper,carton, pallet, etc.
Payment Term:
Usually 30% T/T in advance, and the rest money will be paid against B/L . We also accept L/C.

Product Packing
The materials are usually packed as rolls! There are 40- 60 yards one roll, the quantity depends on the thickness and weight of the materials. The standard is easy to move by manpower.
We'll use a clear plastic bag for the inside packing. For the outside packing, we'll use the resistant plastic woven bag for theoutside packing.
Shipping Mark will be made according to the customer's, and cemented on the two ends of the material rolls in order to see it clearly.
